KABOOM!It's back! The 24th Helsinki Comics Festival - biggest and definitely the baddest comic-con in Finland - is held September 12th and 13th, 2009 in Helsinki, Finland. The venue of this year is Kulttuuriareena Gloria, located at Pieni Roobertinkatu 12, Helsinki, Finland. Helsinki Comics Festival is a gathering place for artists, comic-enthusiasts, publishers and salesmen alike. More than 5000 visitors are expected this year. Like previous festivals, the 24th Helsinki Comics Festival is entirely free for everyone - there are no admissions or entrance fees whatsoever. The programme is filled with great events - everything from presentations, art shows and panel discussions to competitions and art performances. Guests of Honour from Finland and abroad show-and-tell about their work and, of course, sign autographs for their fans. In addition to the already great festival programme, we've dedicated a whole day and a whole separate venue entirely to Japanese comics, manga. A "Day of Manga" is held September 12th at Lasipalatsi, Helsinki.
