Anneli Furmark started as a painter, but since 2002 she combines comics, painting, and illustrations. She has published ten books of her own and participated in various anthologies, and many of her books have also been published in Canada, France, Germany, and Spain. Her recent book Walk Me to the Corner was published in Finland in 2023 (Zum Teufel). For four of her books she won the Swedish Comics Associations award Urhunden. The book Hiver Rouge was an official selection at the Angoulême Comics Festival in 2017.

Anneli Furmark’s works tend to deal with northern landscapes and their inhabitants, to which she has a deep but not uncomplicated love. She lives and works in Umeå and Nordingrå, Sweden.
