Juliana Hyrri (b.1989) is a visual artist from Helsinki who creates contemporary comics, paintings and drawings. She has shown his works widely in Finland and internationally, and has published two successful comic novels: Satakieli joka ei laulanut (The Nightingale that Did Not Sing, 2019, published in Finnish by Suuri Kurpitsa and in English by Featherproof  Books) and Päivänkakkarameri (The Sea of Daisies, 2022, Suuri Kurpitsa). In her cartoons, Hyrri delves into the themes of otherness, remembering and the kind but terrifying contradiction of childhood.
