Kaarina Uimonen is a comics artist from Helsinki and an animator by training. Uimonen’s cartoons often have humour in them, be it absurdity, puns, or depicting sad incidents in a twisted, comic way. Uimonen draws, for example, the Lintuperspektiivi (“A bird’s-eye view”) comic strip, the Housukalat comics, and the autobiographical adventures and musings of Uimonen’s squirrel alter ego. At the moment, Uimonen is also working on a long comic book.
