You will see large prints of pages from Hort, Marijpol’s latest comic, that she worked on for years, as well as some textile objects. Hort is a story about friendship, caring, and alternative family models. Three women in their late thirties live together in an apartment. Denise has modified her body with snake limbs, Petra is extremely muscular as a bodybuilder, and Ulla is a giantess. The story picks up when the three friends meet the siblings Ilse, Jörg, and Dieter. Abandoned indefinitely by their parents, the three children live alone in a crowded neighbourhood apartment.

Marijpol, aka Marie Pohl (b. 1982), studied visual communication and illustration in Hamburg. She works as an illustrator, comic artist, and designer, and teaches drawing and picture narrative as a guest lecturer at various universities. Her comics appear in international magazines and anthologies such as Lagon Revue, Mould Map, and Colorama Clubhouse.
