Jere Poikela, aka Ruakku, is a comics artist who first came to the world of zines through the website Sarjakuvablogit. He has produced comics inspired by Finnish folklore and based on scientific content. The most recent zines Kalmanväki – Sarjakuvaa itäsuomalaisista kansanuskomuksista (2024) and the collaborative work Väkisanoja (2025) are examples of Ruakku’s comics production, which presents the old tradition of spells and mythological stories.
