General information
- The festival takes place from 31 August to 1 September 2024 at the Cable Factory, Merikaapelihalli
- Opening hours Sat 11am–8pm and Sun 11am–7pm. Saturday night will continue in the form of an evening club at the restaurant Hima & Sali at the Cable Factory.
- Admission to the event is free.
- The information points are located at the entrances to Merikaapelihalli.
- The festival has suited programme for all ages. If there are age restrictions in the programme, they are marked clearly. The Kids’ Comics Fest programme takes place in the loft of Merikaapelihalli.

Location and arrival
- Address: The Cable Factory / Kaapelitehdas, Merikaapelihalli. Kaapeliaukio 3, 00180 Helsinki (Location on Google Maps)
- Entrance to the Merikaapelihalli through Lasipiha, from the C hall, and directly from the Tammasaarenlaituri side of the building direct entrance from the street.
- One can get to the Cable Factory by walking, cycling, public transport, and by car.
By public transport
- Metro: Ruoholahti (600 m). Note! The metro does not run through the center of Helsinki. Those traveling from the east can take the metro from Kamppi station to Ruoholahti.
- Tram line 8 has been replaced by bus 8X.
- Buses: 21, 21N, 22, 26, 112N (stop Salmisaari)

By bike
- The Cable Factory has bike racks available for locking one’s own bike.
- The nearest city bike stations are: Kaapelitehdas, Länsisatamankatu, Salmisaarenranta and Itämerentori.
By car
- On weekday evenings, Mon-Fri from 18:00 to 24:00, and on weekends from 08:00 to 24:00, Sat-Sun, parking is possible on Tammasaarenkatu without a parking contract for a one-time fee. The parking fee is paid through the Easypark or Parkman applications or with the parking fee machine situated on the sea side of the building.
- In the vicinity of the Cable Factory there are public paid street parking spaces of the city of Helsinki. There are several payment options at ticket machines in the city of Helsinki. The Ruoholahti shopping center has approximately 1,500 paid parking spaces. WeLand has 195 paid parking spaces for short-term parking.

Food and drink
- The Cable Factory is home to a restaurant Hima & Sali (Sat 12–6pm, Sun 12–6pm) and a cafe bar Kaapelitehtaan Konttori (Sat 11am–6pm).
- There are also many restaurants in the neighborhood.
- You can bring your own food to the festival.
Payment methods
- Bring cash and mobilepay for purchases.
- Although the festival is free, the festival offers the opportunity to make purchases at both the exhibitors’ and Zine Fest’s tables. Some sellers accept card payments.
Safety and equality
First aid
- The event will be attended by security guards and first aid trained employees.
Safer space principles
- The event follows the safer space principles. Every visitor to the festival is required to follow these principles. Familiarise yourself with the principles here.
- You can recognise our safer space committee members by their pink vests.
Accessibility
- Accessible entrance to Merikaapelihalli from the C hall and directly from Tammasaarenlaituri via a ramp.
- There is an accessible toilet on both floors of the hall.
- Access to the loft from the Merikaapelihalli for people with impaired mobility via an elevator and from the Cable Factory courtyard with the D-staircase elevator to the 2nd floor.

Unisex toilets
- The unisex toilets are located next to the Lasipiha entrance and below the Patti are in the central part of Merikaapelihalli.
Toilet card
- The toilet card is used at the Helsinki Comics Festival. The toilet card is a card that makes it easier for people with various intestinal diseases to access the toilet in public places. The person in possession of the card has the right to enter the toilets without queuing. Please be considerate towards the people using the toilet pass at the festival!
