Maria Björklund is a Helsinki-based animation director, comics artist, and illustrator, whose work encompasses both experimental film and the design of cute characters. Björklund has participated in numerous exhibitions around the world with her comics, animations, and other works. In recent years, she has also gained recognition as a street artist. Her comic books include Planeetta Z (Like Kustannus, 2012) and Madonreikiä (Like Kustannus, 2014). Among her animated films, the most festival-circulated are Helsingin kesä (2011) and Planeetta Z – Yllätysmuna (2017).
