Young Anni and her mother are spending their holidays with Anni’s grandparents. They have a tradition of exploring nature and observing its phenomena through different seasons. However, their enjoyable time is tinged with concern for grandmother’s health. The events take place in North Savo, where the book’s creators, graphic designer couple Pentti Otsamo and Anja Rissanen, have lived for the past 20 years. The story is based on illustrations commissioned from Otsamo by the Kuopio University Hospital in 2019.
