Johanna Witick is a Helsinki-based visual artist, illustrator, and graphic designer, known for her distinctive, rich, and expressive illustration style. She has been working in visual design since 2002. Witick has been drawing since childhood, and growing up near Seurasaari made squirrels and tits a familiar sight in her everyday life. During school, her notebooks filled with drawings of a big-eyed squirrel who protested the dullness of life and refused to go on adventures. Over time, this character evolved into its own imaginative world – Stories from Squirrelvalley.
