Kivi Larmola became one of Finland’s most beloved comics artists already in the early 1980s with his zines. Since then, he has published 17 long comics albums and thousands of pages in various publications. He received the Puupäähattu award 1991 and the Kielihelmi award for promoting comics language in 2001.
“When the train departs, it looks as if the platform is moving backwards.” And so it is. The train carries the chosen present towards the future, leaving all alternative pasts behind. This is where Tulen valkea yö (White Night of Fire) begins. It is a story about alienation, the left hand of history, and the reborn god of war, Mahakala.
