Pilvi Hyväri (born 1992) is a comics and visual artist from Tornio. Hyväri studied at the University of the Arts Helsinki, Academy of Fine Arts, where she earned her Master of Fine Arts degree, and has since settled in Tampere. Hyväri’s debut comic novel Koeta pysyä herttasena (Try to Stay Sweet, 2026) is an autofictional depiction of growing up in and breaking away from the conservative Laestadian revival movement. The protagonist grows up in a conservative community, imagining herself becoming a mother of a large family and, after her death, going to Heaven. However, she finds herself caught in doubts and identity crises, realising that she may not be heterosexual or able to fully endorse Laestadian values.
