Lellikki is a graphic novel based on true events about children’s lives, where violence is often insidious. The main character of the story is a dreamer girl with bobbles in her hair. The red bobble is a symbol for an otherwise unnamed character across a multi-year timeline. The exhibition features original works created with gouache and mixed media, sketches, and narrative surprises.
Juliana Hyrri is an Estonian-born comics artist and painter. Lellikki is her third graphic novel, and its French translation, La Chouchoute, will be published at the end of 2026. Hyrri was awarded the State Prize for Illustrations and Comics in 2023.
