Kids have their own comics fest!
The children’s own comics event Kids’ Comics Fest is being organised for the third time in September! The free event, aimed at children, will take place on September 18, 2026 at Cultural Centre Stoa.
Our popular guests include Puupäähattu-award-winning creators Aino Havukainen and Sami Toivonen, known for the Tatu ja Patu books, as well as Danish creators Sabine Lemire and Rasmus Brenghøi, known for the Mira book series! One panel will feature the favourite comics of the children’s guest stars, and attendees will also have the chance to hear music performed by the band Äxyt Zeeprat.
There is also lot of workshops and participatory programme at the festivals!
Reserve a place for your group in the programme
Groups of children can reserve spots for the festival’s main stage programme through the Kultus system. See all Kids’ Comics Fest spots here. School groups can register for the library stage programme and for all workshops by sending an email to info@sarjakuvafestivaalit.fi (required information: group size, programme/workshop name). Groups can prepare in advance by using downloadable activity packs for children (in Finnish only). There are also open workshops where spontaneous participation is welcome.
