2025 HELSINKI COMICS FESTIVAL IN CABLE FACTORY!
The 2025 Comics festival takes place in Merikaapeli on 20–21 September.
Tuoni Myllylä is the festival artist. The 2025 festival themes are darkness and Greek comics.
The Helsinki Comics Festival brings together comic book lovers!
The festival has a number of free happenings for both children and adults. The Helsinki Comics Festival offers public interviews with invited guests, panel discussions, performances, workshops and sales events for both larger publishing houses and small press creators.
Over the years, the festival has been visited by, among others, Will Eisner, Willem, Moebius, Marjane Satrapi, Morris, Joakim Pirinen, Neil Gaiman, Lise Myhre, Kate Charlesworth, Lilli Carré, Bryan and Mary Talbot and Paul Gravett, along with Finnish comics artists. In almost 40 years, the number of visitors has grown from about a thousand to 11,000–20,000 people annually.

This year kids have their own comics fest!
Children’s own comics festival Kids’ Comics Fest will be organised for the first time alongside Helsinki Comics Festival at the Merikaapelihalli hall of the Cable Factory, during August 31–September 1, 2024. In addition to books, Kids’ Comics Fest will feature a puppet show, comics talks, workshops, skin art, artist interviews and much more!
